BREAKING NEWS: Blockchain Coordinated Attack on:

โŒ #Solana: Network was offline for 16 hours.

โŒ #Arbitrum: Layer2 ETH down.

โœ… #Ethereum: Nothing as corrupt blocks were rejected.

Conclusion: ETH is the King โšœ๏ธ

ETH killers, no comment. ๐Ÿ˜‚

โœจLayer-1 & Layer-2 Blockchain Scaling Solutions

For blockchains to compete with legacy payments processors, they need to be able to process high volumes of transactions quickly, at a low cost.

โ–ซ๏ธWhy is Scalability Important?
The main goal of scalability is to increase transaction speed (faster finality) and transaction throughput (higher transactions per second) without sacrificing decentralization or security.

โ–ซ๏ธThere are 2 primary ways to achieve blockchain scalability: Layer-1 & Layer-2 Solutions. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

1๏ธโƒฃ LAYER-1
It's a network that acts as infrastructure for other applications, protocols, and networks to build on top of. A public decentralized layer-1 network's primary characteristic is its consensus mechanism.

๐Ÿ”น#Ethereum 2.0 is one high-profile blockchain protocol that is exploring shards, along with #Zilliqa, #Tezos, and #Qtum.

2๏ธโƒฃ LAYER-2
It refers to a secondary framework or protocol that is built on top of an existing blockchain system. The main goal of these protocols is to solve the transaction speed and scaling difficulties that are being faced by the major crypto networks.

โ–ซ๏ธLayer-1 vs Layer-2 Key Differences
The main difference between layer-1 vs layer-2 scalability solutions lies in their role and focus on the blockchain. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ”…Layer-1 is here to improve the blockchain architecture, while layer-2 is here to build third-party networks on top of the main blockchain.

๐Ÿ”…Layer-1 can provide the most effective solution in large-scale protocol upgrades. However, using this method also means that the validator must be convinced to accept changes via a hard fork.

๐Ÿ”…Layer-2 provides a faster way to increase scalability. However, users can potentially lose the level of security of the original blockchain due to the use of third parties.

โ–ซ๏ธConclusion
๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸปLayer-1 and layer-2 are just two sides of the same scaling solution. Therefore, they have a strategy designed to make the blockchain network faster and more accommodating for a rapidly growing user base.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸปThese strategies also do not outperform each other, and many blockchain networks are exploring combinations of layer-1 and layer-2 scaling solutions on blockchains to achieve increased scalability without compromising security or adequate decentralization.

๐Ÿ’ฅ Ethereum Modular Ecosystem Map

๐Ÿ‘‰ I tried to make it easy to understand so that you realize the relevance of this ecosystem map for your investments.

๐Ÿ›  A Modular Blockchain (#Ethereum #Celestia #ZkSync #Polygon #Arbitrum) manages Specific Tasks in-house and delegate others to specialized networks, instead of a Monolithic Blockchain (#Bitcoin #Cardano #Monero #Solana #BSC #Tron) which tries to manage All Tasks in a single base consensus layer and without relying on third-party blockchains.

๐Ÿ‘‰ This table brings together most of all crypto hi-tech projects that will impact the future of blockchain infrastructures. No doubt that the majority of the biggest crypto nuggets can be found here.

Thx to @Victor_crypto_ for having created this ecosystem map.

๐Ÿ›  Cross-Chain Bridges

Before you shout about exorbitant gas fees on the Ethereum chain, D.Y.O.R. among Cross-Chain Bridges to transfer your assets from one blockchain to another, at less gas fees.

Here is an example where I withdrew some $USDT on 10% staking from #Binance, using the #Arbitrum network (gas fees 0.5 $USDT per transfer) for sending $USDT to my #MetaMask wallet, on #Arbitrum Chain (no fees when credited)

To cross $USDT on #Arbitrum Chain to buy $JUNO on #JUNO Chain, I used Squid Bridge that will manage this transaction. I just have to order the amount of $JUNO to purchase, and then it will be sent directly to my own $JUNO Address on #Osmosis.

The gas fees are ridiculously low, and since I received an extra $0.5 $JUNO credited, that means no gas fees here (and of course no trading fees like in any CEX).

Recap: (start) $USDT > Binance > Arbitrum > MetaMask > Squid (Arbitrum > Axelar > Osmosis) > $JUNO (end)
