How does the shape of an electron limit particle physics?
The ACME Collaboration has a new paper in Nature reporting the latest results of their search for a permanent electric dipole moment of the electron. This is huge because it suggest that the new particles predicted by theories of physics beyond the Standard Model should have masses greater than could be directly detected at the Large Hadron Collider.

How Does The 'Shape' Of An Electron Limit Particle Physics?
The ACME experiment has released new result showing the "roundness" of the electron, which are touted as a test of fundamental physics theories. How does that work, anyway?

New finding of particle physics may help to explain the absence of antimatter
With the help of computer simulations, particle physics researchers may be able to explain why there is more matter than antimatter in the Universe. The simulations offer a new way of examining conditions after the Big Bang, and could provide answers to some fundamental questions in particle physics.

Using an accurate measurement of the parameters of planetary bodies to constrain the mass of the graviton
A team of researchers affiliated with several institutions in France has revisited the idea of improving on estimates of the upper limit of the mass of a graviton. In their paper published in the journal Physical Review Letters, the group describes their accurate measurement of the parameters of planetary bodies and what they found.

How do you weigh a single molecule?
Utrecht scientists have succeeded in measuring the mass of individual molecules. By modifying an existing mass spectrometer and developing special software, the researchers succeeded in making ultra-sensitive measurements. This enables them to measure each particle separately in a mixture of molecules for the first time. This has far-reaching applications in, for example, gene therapy products, in which a precise measurement method is crucial. The researchers will publish their findings on 9 March in Nature Methods.
