مهاجرت، تحقیر و نژادپرستی
مواجهه میان مهمان‌نوازی و نژادپرستی ایرانی‌ها در قبال غیر ایرانی‌ها، از همان نخستین روزهای راه‌اندازی پروژه See You in Iran، از موضوعات بحث‌برانگیز بوده است.
در همین راستا، به مناسبت روز جهانی پناهجویان و در ادامه مجموعه رویدادهای ماه افغانستان، بر روایت‌ها و نگرش‌های گوناگون دیاسپورای افغانستانی، مهاجران، پناهندگان و پناهجویان تمرکز می‌کنیم و به تجربه زیسته آنها در مواجهه با بیگانه‌هراسی، نژادپرستی، تحقیر و محرومیت، با پیش‌زمینه کمبود منابع و فرصت‌ها در سرزمین مادریشان می‌پردازیم.
در کنار این، در بخش دیوار رسانه، عکس‌های سوفیا برندز درباره زندگی یک خانواده پناهجوی افغانستانی در کرج به نمایش گذاشته می‌شوند.

Immigration, Humiliation, and Racism
Since the first days of the See You in Iran project, the interplay between hospitality and racism among Iranians toward non-Iranians has been one of the most controversial discussion topics. In honor of World Refugee Day, and as the next session of Afghanistan Month event series, we focus on different perspectives and narratives of Afghan diaspora, refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants through their lived experiences of xenophobia, racism, humiliation, and exclusion, in the context of the incentives for emigration such as lack of resources and opportunities in their home country. In addition, our media wall is dedicated to showcase Sofia Brandes’ photo essay about an Afghan refugee family based in Karaj, Iran.

امروز هفتهٔ چهارم و پایانی ماه افغانستان با موضوع «مهاجرت، تحقیر و نژادپرستی» در کافه هاستل See You in Iran (کوژین) برگزار می‌شود. در این ویدیوی کوتاه، بخشی از برنامهٔ سه هفتهٔ گذشته را می‌بینید.
برای امروز به ما بپیوندید تا با هم ببینیم چه نقشی در سختی‌های مهاجرت و نژادپرستی داشته‌ایم و یا به دیگران - به طور مشخص افغانستانی‌ها - تحمیل کرده‌ایم.

Today the forth and last week of Afghanistan month, revolving around "emigration, humiliation and racism" will take place at See You in Iran cafe-hostel. This video, in brief, portrays the past three weeks of Afghanistan.
Join us today so we can examine to what degree we have been victimised by the hardships of emmigration and racism and how much we have exposed others, in specific afghan immigrants, to the same calamities.

Being a #refugee is much more than a political status. It is the most pervasive kind of cruelty that can be exercised against a human being. You are forcibly robbing this human being of all aspects that would make human life not just tolerable but meaningful in many ways.” This is a quote from Ai Weiwei’s documentary called “Human Flow”.
Unfortunately, there has been devastating news in the past few weeks about the #Greece-#Turkey border, as tens of thousands of lives are being exploited by the Turkish government. Greek police fires tear gas at crowds at the border crossing, people are being kept in inhuman conditions and many are attempting suicide. This is not the first time we are facing such a crisis and we should certainly not keep silent against this dehumanization happening to innocent lives.
This short video was edited by Soroush Ahi for an event about “Migration and Literature” held in #SeeYouinIran cultural house last year.
